About Us

The Peter Birtwistle Trust is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) providing supported housing for older people in Colne. Established to offer a safe and comfortable living environment, we are committed to helping our residents lead fulfilling lives within a caring and supportive community.

We are a registered provider of social housing and regulated by the Regulator of Social Housing and we are registered with the Housing Ombudsman.

Constitution

The Charity (Reg No. 1183388) is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) and is governed by a Charity Commission Foundation. The Constitution of the CIO which is dated 19th May 2019, replaces the original Charity Commission Scheme dated 4th December 1951.

Governance

The Peter Birtwistle Trust is overseen by 12 voluntary Trustees who are responsible for ensuring that the Charity is run according to Charity Commission regulation and guidance. On a day-to-day basis the Peter Birtwistle Trust is managed by paid employees.
